Subject in Custody after Armed Domestic Violence Incident
On 6-26-19 at 9:17 a.m. Janesville police officers responded to 944 N. Wright Rd. for the report of a domestic dispute. The victim reported the suspect was armed with a handgun and made threats to shoot people. The victim was no longer at the residence but the suspect was thought to still be there. Do to the location of the apartment and the possibility of and armed subject in the apartment a perimeter was set up and vehicle/pedestrian traffic was closed off to the general area.
At 9:55 a.m. a Janesville police officer also trained as a Crisis Negotiator spoke to the suspect by phone and he cooperatively came out of the apartment. He was taken into custody and transported to the Rock County Jail after processing at the police department.
