Fireworks Alert 
Today is the first official day that firework stands in the City of Monterey Park are allowed to sell “Safe and Sane” fireworks and there are only 7 authorized firework stands within the City. Remember to only purchase your "Safe and Sane" fireworks from an authorized firework stand.
Use of “Safe and Sane” fireworks are allowed within the City of Monterey Park; however, discharge of “Safe and Sane” fireworks are limited only to the 4th of July from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM. Please make sure that children are supervised at all times when using "Safe and Sane" fireworks.
Use of illegal fireworks or modified “Safe and Sane” fireworks are prohibited. Failure to comply may result in a citation and a fine of $2,000.00 to $5,000.00 per occurrence (M.P.M.C. 5.48)
In general, if a firework explodes, flies, darts, or travels, they are illegal in California. If the fireworks that you possess do not have the State Fire Marshal seal on them, then they are illegal. Due to the extreme fire danger in California, the City of Monterey Park Police and Fire Departments are requesting that you use “Safe and Sane” fireworks in a responsible manner.
