INCIDENT: Possession of Illegal Fireworks

LOCATION: 12700 block of Trotters Lane, Victorville

SUSPECT: Robert Pulido, 38-year old Victorville resident



SUMMARY:
On April 9, 2019, deputies with the Victorville Police Department’s, Gang Enforcement Team were requested to assist San Bernardino County Probation officers on a probation check. While checking the residence in the 12700 block of Trotters Lane, numerous boxes of fireworks were located in the attached garage of the home.

The fireworks, which filled the garage, were commercial fireworks used by professionals in public events.
Personnel from the Victorville Fire Department responded to the location and confiscated the fireworks, which they estimated to be over 3,000 pounds. The suspect, identified as Robert Pulido, is now facing charges of possessing fireworks without a permit and possessing dangerous fireworks in an amount of 100-5000 pounds.

Be aware that fireworks in any amount pose a danger. Even so-called safe and sane fireworks can cause injury and present an extreme fire hazard in our High Desert. All fireworks are illegal in the City of Victorville and violators may face up to six months in jail, and up to a $1,000 fine. The City has formed a task force of Deputies, Fire Personnel, and Officers from the City’s Code Enforcement and Animal Control Divisions. This task force will continue conducting regular fireworks enforcement sweeps throughout the month of July to suppress the illegal possession and use of fireworks.
