Occasionally the Village of Burr Ridge gets requests from individuals or companies to solicit Door-to-Door. The following information is being provided to assist in determining if the solicitor has been approved by the Village:
The Village of Burr Ridge issues a photo ID permit badge to each approved solicitor. You have the right to ask to see the ID badge anytime someone approaches your door.
Solicitor permits have an expiration date. Therefore, it's important to check the expiration date on the badge. The ID badges will also contain the name of solicitor's business.
There are time restrictions when solicitors can approach your homes. Soliciting is permitted between 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Soliciting is prohibited on Sunday or on a State Holiday.
If the solicitor does not have the proper permit or is aggressive in anyway call 9-1-1 immediately.
