OPD Fireworks Seizure
The Ontario Police Department is conducting targeted enforcement aimed at reducing the use of illegal fireworks in the City. Teams of officers will be out each night until July 4th with the sole responsibility to answer calls for service related to fireworks.
On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Officers from our Community Oriented Problem Solving Unit (COPS), responded to a fireworks related call in the 600 Block of West Nocturne Court. The call for service led to the discovery and seizure of 450 pounds of illegal fireworks.
As Independence Day approaches, reports of fireworks continue to rise. The Ontario Police Department urges residents to help us make this year's celebration safe for everyone by not lighting any type of firework within the City limits of Ontario.
