*REWARD* East LA Station Detectives Continuing to Seek Public’s Help in Locating Suspect in 2016 Assault
A $15,000 reward remains active, as Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department East Los Angeles Station detectives continue to seek the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect wanted for the 2016 assault of two victims with a hammer-like weapon.
The assaults happened on two separate occasions. The first assault occurred on Friday, March 25, 2016 in the 1400 block of South Bonnie Beach Place, East Los Angeles. The suspect walked up to the elderly male, and without any warning or provocation, hit him with a hammer-type weapon. When the elderly man fell to the ground, the suspect kicked the victim. The suspect fled southbound on Bonnie Beach Place and out of view.
The second assault took place just hours later, in the 4400 block of Triggs Street, East Los Angeles. During this incident, a female adult was standing in front of a residence when, without warning or provocation, the suspect hit her with several times in the head with a hammer-like type weapon. The suspect fled in an unknown direction, leaving the female lying on the ground unconscious.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic-male, with a goatee between 40 and 50 years of age, standing approximately six feet tall and weighing between 200 and 240 pounds, is believed to have fled in a 1990’s dark color Toyota Tacoma with an extended cab. He wore a hat, sunglasses, a blue wind breaker, brown cargo shorts, and white shoes.
On Tuesday, June 28, 2016, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors renewed a $15,000 reward for information leading to the identification and capture of this suspect.
