Wilmington Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old found with a loaded firearm and fireworks.
 
On July 3 at approximately 5:20 p.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 600 block of 5th Street when they observed a group, including several young males holding fireworks, loitering on a vacant property.
 
As officers approached, they located 18-year-old Joseph Hodges, who had an active capias. He was taken into custody without incident, and officers recovered a loaded 32-caliber revolver that was in his possession. He was also found to be in possession of 55 roman candles.
 
Hodges has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of fireworks. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $5,250 unsecured bail.
