KCSO makes arrest after domestic violence call, pursuit
On July 9, 2019, at 10:55am, Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched for a report of a man attempting entry through a window at an apartment in the 600 block of Morning Dr. The apartment was occupied by a female and young juvenile. The suspect, 30-year-old Devin Bell, made entry and assaulted the female and juvenile. He fled as deputies arrived. Deputies located Bell running in the area of Foothill High School and then lost sight of him.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office Air Support Unit and K9 unit responded and assisted deputies in locating Bell. Bell was arrested after another short foot pursuit at Voorhies Elementary School. Bell will be booked into the Central Receiving Facility for burglary, child abuse, spousal battery, criminal threats, resisting arrest and a parole violation. The female in the apartment did know Bell, and she and her child declined medical aid. 2019-00109939.
