Police Seek the Public's Help in Locating Missing 75-Year Old Newark Man with Alzheimer's

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in locating missing 75-year old Muhammad A. Shabazz of Newark.

Mr. Shabazz, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, was last seen at 5:30 p.m. on Monday in the 400 block of South 17th Street. He is described as 5’7” tall and 165 lbs. He has a bald head, brown eyes and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue short-sleeve shirt with orange designs, black and white sneakers and a black baseball cap.

While police are actively searching for Mr. Shabazz, pictured below, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him so he can be returned to his family.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Muhammad A. Shabazz to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
