Synopsis: A 60 year old male was riding his bike westbound on West Laurel St. As he approached the 600 block of Laurel St the grade decreased to a negative 20 %. The rider was traveling at an unsafe speed, made an unsafe movement to the right and struck the mirror of a vehicle parked legally on the north curb. He lost control, overturned and struck the roadway after vaulting a significant distance down the gradient. He was transported to the hospital with a life threatening head injury. San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating.
