Synopsis: Prior to the collision a 24 year old female pedestrian and 22 year old male pedestrian were crossing 14th St eastbound in the south unmarked crosswalk. They were approximately 3/4 of the way through. An unknown person driving a 2013 Ford Mustang was driving northbound 300 14th St. The Mustang drove into the intersection and attempted to make a U-turn. The Mustang lost control and crashed into both pedestrians. The Mustang carried the female forward and subsequently pinned her against the west wall of 1401 J St. She sustained an open fracture of the left tibia and fibula and a fracture of her left hip. The male had multiple abrasions. The driver fled the scene on foot and was not located. San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating.
