On 07-15-19 at 0120hrs Roscoe Police were dispatched to the 11000 block of Valerian Way, located in the Chicory Ridge subdivision, for a possible in-progress burglary to motor vehicle and suspicious person leaving the area. Sergeant Robert Lewis arrived in the area and located a male subject on a bicycle a short distance from Valerian Way. Sergeant Lewis made contact with the person, and after conducting an investigation, found the subject to be in possession of burglary tools and numerous other items. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Celestino M. Rocha of Rockford, was taken into custody and charged with possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, and criminal trespass to vehicle. Roscoe Police have identified 6 vehicle burglaries and are still asking anyone who may have been affected to contact the police department.
Subjects identified as suspects are innocent until proven guilty. Mugshots can be located through the Winnebago County Corrections Department.
