...Excessive heat expected Thursday through Sunday... The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued an Excessive Heat Watch, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Sunday evening.
* TEMPERATURE...Highs in the mid to upper 90s daily, with heat index reaching 105 to 110.
* IMPACTS...Several days of heat indices of at least 105 degrees could have a cumulative impact on some individuals, especially those who spend a prolonged amount of time outdoors. The most susceptible are the very young, the elderly, and those without air conditioning, and anyone conducting strenuous outdoor activities. Also, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Never leave pets, children or the elderly unattended in parked vehicles. The extended period of high heat and humidity will worsen the effects of heat stress.
