Man Arrested for Robbing 7-Eleven
Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for robbing a Central Islip 7-Eleven.
Malcolm Crews entered 7-Eleven, located at 166 East Suffolk Ave., told the clerk he had a gun and demanded cash at 12:27 a.m. When the clerk did not comply, Crews reached over the counter, stole cash from the drawer, and then fled on foot.
Following an investigation, Third Squad detectives located Crews at 51 East Cherry St., Central Islip, where he was arrested at 12:57 a.m.
Crews, 25, of 169 Sunflower Lane, Islandia was charged with Robbery 1st Degree. He is being held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
