VICTIM:   Male Hispanic adult (deceased)
                Male Hispanic adult (wounded)

UNIT:  Homicide Bureau – Lt. Westphal
 
 
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives have responded to the 24000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Lomita, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male, Hispanic adult and the wounding of another male, Hispanic adult.
 
Detectives have learned that Lomita Station deputies responded to a residential location regarding a gunshot victim call.  Upon their arrival, they located a male, Hispanic adult with at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso.  He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
 
A second male, Hispanic adult was additionally located at the location with a gunshot wound to the lower torso.  He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and remains in fair condition.
 
Preliminary information gathered at the scene revealed others were inside the location at the time of the shooting and remain to be questioned.
 
The relationship between both males, if any, and if the incident is gang related, is unknown.
 
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
 
Based on the evidence at this point, it appears the death is suspicious in nature.
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information at this time.
