On Tuesday, July 16th, 2019 at 6:44 p.m. Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Imperial Avenue for an incident regarding an altercation between a father and adult son who was “going crazy” and “breaking everything”. Prior to the arrival of Law Enforcement the incident moved outside and multiple witnesses reported to 911 operators that the incident escalated to involve up to 30 gang members, with at least one person armed with a handgun.
Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the adult son in a vacant lot. The man appeared to have an altered state. As Deputies attempted to take the man into custody he resisted. Physical restraint, tasers and a K-9 were utilized to take the man into custody. During this struggle Deputies requested an ambulance to standby in the area.
After gaining control of the man Deputies observed that he was unconscious and having a medical emergency. Deputies began to initiate life saving measures on him. The man was transported by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center where he received medical treatment and died early this morning.
The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Crimes Against Person Team and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Internal Affairs Division are investigating the incident.
It is expected that there will be an updated release of information on Thursday, July 18th, 2019. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is tentatively planning on releasing the body worn camera video pending investigative interviews and processing of evidence.

El Martes, 16 de Julio del 2019 a las 6:44 p.m. los oficiales del Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department recibieron una llamada en la area de Imperial Avenida, Modesto, CA., sobre una altercación entre padre e hijo adulto. El padre reporto que el hijo estaba quebrando todo en la casa y actuando caótico. Antes de la llegada de los oficiales el hijo adulto se fugo de la casa y se involucró en un incidente con un grupo de pandilleros, se reporto que hubo una persona armada con una pistola.

Los oficiales llegaron a la escena y contactaron al hijo adulto en un lote vació. El hombre aparecía estar en un estado alterado. Cuando los oficiales estaban tratando de arrestar al hombre el resistió. Durante la altercación contra los oficiales, los oficiales usaron fuerza física, tasador y un canino para poder detener al hombre. Durante la altercación los oficiales pidieron una ambulancia.

Al detener el control del hombre los oficiales observaron que el hombre estaba inconsciente y teniendo una emergencia medica. Oficiales comenzaron los primeros auxilios. El hombre fue transportado al hospital donde recibió tratamiento e falleció esta mañana.

La investigación esta siendo conducida por las siguientes oficinas del condado Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Crimes Against Person Team and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Internal Affairs Division.
