DATE: July 18, 2019
LOCATION: 1600-blk E. Calaveras Bl. near N. Temple Dr.
CASE #: 19-199-221
SUSPECT: Titans Quang Ho, 49-year-old Milpitas resident
On July 18, 2019, at about 11:31 PM, the Milpitas Police Department responded to an assault with a deadly weapon on E. Calaveras Bl. The suspect, later identified as Titans Ho, approached a woman and swung a kitchen knife at her. She was able to avoid being cut, but she sustained minor injuries from falling while eluding him. As Ho fled, he brandished the kitchen knife at nearby bystanders. Based on information provided by witnesses and victims, officers determined Ho fled to his apartment on N. Temple Dr. where he shut himself in his bedroom. Officers attempted to contact him numerous times for him to come out and surrender, but he refused to comply. As the standoff continued, members of the police department’s Hostage Negotiation Team and SWAT Team responded to the apartment to ensure a safe outcome. Officers continued their efforts to negotiate with Ho for a total of nearly four hours to no avail. SWAT Team officers ultimately entered the apartment and arrested Ho without incident. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of brandishing a weapon, and resisting, obstructing, or delaying an officer.
