The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Wayne County today and tonight.
Due to the extreme heat, the Helm Life Center will be serving as a public cooling center from 12:00pm to 5:00pm today, July 20, 2019, for residents of the Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods over the age of 60 as well as their immediate family.
The Helm Life Center is located at 158 Ridge Road in Grosse Pointe Farms.
A weather warning indicates a confirmed, current and present danger to this area.
