Flash Flood Watch until 02:00AM Tuesday
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwest Virginia and West Virginia, including the following areas, in southwest Virginia, Buchanan and Dickenson. In West Virginia, Boone, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Pocahontas, Northwest Raleigh, Northwest Randolph, Northwest Webster, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Nicholas, Southeast Pocahontas, Southeast Raleigh, Southeast Randolph, Southeast Webster, and Wyoming.
* Through late tonight
* Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected today with high rainfall rates. Training storms are possible. Previous rainfall over the past 24 hours has made some locations in the watch area sensitive to additional rainfall.
* Flooding of urban and poor drainage areas will be possible. In addition, flooding of small creeks and streams could occur People residing near creeks and streams should monitor the forecast and be prepared to take immediate action if flooding occurs.
