Stanislaus County Sheriff and ABC Shoulder Tap Operation 
A “Shoulder Tap” operation is designed to discourage adults from purchasing for or furnishing alcohol to minors.
On 07/26/2019 Stanislaus County Sheriff Deputies, using under age Sheriff’s Explorers as decoys conducted a “Shoulder Tap” operation. During the eight hour operation the decoys contacted 32 people outside eight ABC licensed businesses. Two adults purchased alcohol for the decoys.
One subject was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant while conducting this “Shoulder Tap” operation.
Two adults received citations for furnishing alcohol to minors and are scheduled to appear in the Superior Court in Stanislaus County.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the” National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.”
