SUSPECT: Joseph Ronzelle Lane, 23 years-old, Oakland resident
SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2016 Green Honda HR-V
On June 7, 2019, the Milpitas Police Department investigated several auto burglaries in the parking lot of the shopping center, located on the 400-block of Barber Lane. During the investigation, an officer reviewed security camera footage and obtained a limited description of two suspects and their vehicle. The officer was also able to obtain latent fingerprint evidence from a victim’s vehicle.
On June 21, 2019, an officer was patrolling the shopping center parking lots on Barber Lane and saw the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it; but it fled at a high rate of speed.
On July 18, 2019, Joseph Ronzelle Lane was identified as the driver of the suspect vehicle. A Detective obtained a $50,000 Ramey arrest warrant for Lane for burglary and evading a peace officer.
On July 30, 2019, Detectives arrested Lane in San Francisco and booked him into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for the warrant.
The Milpitas Police Department would like to remind the public to never leave valuables inside of their unattended vehicle and to report suspicious activity immediately.
