ONGOING CLEANUP ON LUCAS VALLEY ROAD - EXPECT DELAYS
A message from our partners from the California Highway Patrol Marin Office:
Most of you are already aware of the hazmat incident we investigated on Sunday involving a gas tanker truck spilling approximately 2100 gallons of unleaded gas into a creek next to Lucas Valley Road. Efforts are underway to clean the entire area of any contaminated soil and debris which is expected to take some time.
As the cleanup process continues, one way traffic control will remain in affect. Drivers traveling on Lucas Valley Road, west of West Gate should expect delays until the cleanup is completed. While residents and employees might not have a choice on the route they take, we would ask all others utilize alternate routes including SIr Francis Drake Boulevard or Novato Boulevard. Please also be vigilant of workers in the roadway as you make your way past the scene. Their safety depends on your vigilance!
