INCIDENT: Hard Summer Music Festival
LOCATION: Auto Club Speedway, Fontana
SUMMARY: On Saturday, August 3, 2019 and Sunday, August 4, 2019, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department provided law enforcement services within the Hard Summer Music Festival. The two-day event, hosted by Insomniac drew more than 170,000 attendees. Over the weekend, deputies made eleven arrests for public intoxication, drug possession, battery and theft. Fifteen people were taken to local hospitals for conditions related to heat exposure, dehydration, injuries and alcohol and drug consumption.
The event provided free parking within the Speedway. However, several attendees parked vehicles in the area surrounding the event and reported damage and thefts from their vehicles.
