On August 6th, Yucaipa deputies received numerous tips about a suspect wanted for sexual battery seen walking in the 12000 block of 5th St. Deputies searched the area with the assistance of a sheriff's helicopter, and at approximately 6:49 p.m., the suspect was located in the area of 5th and Yucaipa Blvd and taken into custody without incident. He was identified as Ruben Ibarra, a resident of Bloomington. He was found to have four misdemeanor warrants for his arrest on unrelated cases.
Ibarra was booked into Central Detention Center on a charge of sexual battery and the active warrants, with bail set at $210,000.

On August 5, 2019, Yucaipa Police Department deputies responded to a reported sexual battery at the above location. The victim was sitting outside on a covered porch when the suspect approached her. He was wearing a work vest covering a shirt and tie. He was not wearing a name tag or any visible company identification. The suspect spoke to the victim briefly before beginning to touch the victim. The victim walked away and, before she could enter the home, the suspect sexually battered her.
The suspect left on foot and no vehicle has been linked to him at this time. The suspect is a hispanic male, approximately 40 to 50 years of ago, approximately 5'10" tall and approximately 200 pounds. The suspect possibly has an unknown tattoo on the left side of his neck.
