07/01/2019 Larceny (Theft without force)
100 Block of Pearl – Officers took a report of 2 stolen scooters and a bike. The homeowner stated that they were left unattended at the side of her home during the evening of June 30th, but were discovered missing the morning of July 1. Officers recovered the property on July 5 and returned the bikes to the owner.

07/08/2019 Hit & Run Parked Vehicle
9300 Block of Holiday Dr- Sometime during July 3 to July 8 a parked vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle. No evidence, witnesses or suspects have been developed or identified. If anyone has information regarding this incident, they are asked to call the Northfield Twp Police

07/10/2019 Fraudulent use of a Credit Card
7200 Block of Vintage – Victim reported that someone used his credit card to make unauthorized Amazon Prime video purchases. The victim has cancelled his credit card and was advised to check his credit for any additional fraud charges. The case remains under investigation.

07/13/2019 Arrest of Two for CCW/Felony Firearm
Main St & Pine – An officer observed a traffic violation. After stopping a vehicle for speeding, the officer discovered drugs, money and guns in the vehicle. Two subjects were released at the scene, while two were arrested. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review

07/13/2019 Hit & Run
U.S 23 & 8 Mile Round-About – A driver repoted he was yielding when a white PT Cruiser sideswiped his 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The white PT Cruiser continued eastbound without stopping. The occupants of the Jeep were unable to get the license plate of the PT Cruiser. If anyone was a witness to this incident please contact the Northfield Twp Police.

07/14/2019 Larceny From Auto (Several Incidents Reported)–
Northpointe & Wildwood Subdivisions(Barker & Jennings) – During the early morning hours, 2 am to 8 am, several unlocked vehicles were entered with purses, wallets and change being taken. Some of the property was recovered, evidence was collected and the cases remain under investigation.
*****Reminder : Remove all valuables from your vehicle and lock your car doors. Unlocked car doors provide easy opportunities for quick thefts.

07/17/2019 Larceny from Auto
9100 Block of Walnut – A victim reported that she left her wallet on the seat of her unlocked vehicle and when she returned at approximately 1:30 pm she discovered it missing. The case remains under investigation,

07/18/2019 Larceny of Broken Chimney
9000 Block of Grove- A resident reported that an old broken chimney was taken from his property. The case remains under investigation.

07/20/2019 Attempted Extortion
North Territorial & U.S. 23 – A resident reported that he lost his phone while at the gas station. After turning the phone off–his parents received a call threatening to harm the owner of the phone if it was not turned back on. The subject was identified and the phone was returned to the owner.

07/20/2019 Arrest- Felony Warrant – Dangerous Drugs
Main & Westbrook –During a traffic stop for speeding, the Officer discovered that the driver of the vehicle was wanted on two outstanding Narcotic warrants. The driver was arrested and turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrants. The vehicle was released to the passenger.

07/21/2019 Arrest- Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License
North Territorial & Jomar – During a traffic stop for speeding, the Officer discovered the driver was driving on a revoked driver’s license. The driver was arrested and given a citation for driving on a revoked license and driving an unregistered vehicle on the roadway.

07/22/2019 Hit & Run
100 Block of Barker- The complainant stated that when she arrived to work she discovered that the large flower planter in the parking lot had been hit. Officers spoke with an adjoining business and determined that the incident occurred at approximately 5pm on July 21. Officers reviewed video from surrounding businesses and followed up on a lead, however, the suspect has not been identified.
****If anyone witnessed or has information regarding the accident, which occurred on the evening of July 21 in the parking lot of Marcos restaurant, please contact the Northfield Police Department.

07/23/2019 Stalking/Harassment
400 Block of E Shore – A resident reported that he was receiving numerous forms of communication and gifts from a known acquaintance and desired these actions to cease. An Officer contacted the acquaintance who agreed to stop any further contact. No prosecution was desired and the case was closed.

07/24/2019 Larceny
7900 Block of Coyle – A complainant reported that sometime between 4 & 4:30 pm an acquaintance of hers entered some inoperable vehicles and took without her permission several lawn and small power tools belonging to her. The case remains under investigation.

07/25/2019 Larceny from Building
600 Block of Turquoise – Management reported that sometime between July 9 and July 24 a new water heater and stove were taken from an unoccupied residence. The case remains under investigation.

07/25/2019 Larceny by Trick
5600 Block of Northfield Dr – A victim reported that he sold an electronic item to an unsatisfied buyer who requested to return the item for a refund. After refunding the buyer through an eBay process, the victim discovered the returned item was not the item he had sold and it had been manipulated to reflect the original sale item. During the investigation, eBay credited the victims account. No further police action was necessary.

07/25/2019 Arrest – Receiving and Concealing Stolen Vehicle
6 Mile & U.S.23 – An officer observed a traffic violation(speeding), upon a traffic stop the driver could not produce a license or any paperwork on the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen out of Northville. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was recovered,

07/26/2019 Malicious Destruction of Property
9300 Block of Main St – A resident reported that after placing “Private Property” signage along her Lakeshore beach area, the resident found the sign broken from the post and burned. Additional damage was discovered to the grass and a floating raft. The case remains under investigation. If anyone has information regarding this damage they should contact the Northfield Police.

07/26/2019 Stolen Boat
40 Block of East Shore –A resident reported that she left her inflatable boat with trolling motor chained to a tree along the shoreline of Whitmore Lake on July 21 and discovered it missing on July 24. The case remains under investigation.

07/26/2019 Arrest – Resisting & Obstructing Police & Outstanding Warrants
9300 Block of Main St.- An officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle. During the stop of the vehicle and contact with the occupants, the officer received inconsistent answers. The passenger subject fled the scene and a taser was deployed to prevent the driver from running away. Further investigation revealed that the driver was driving without a license ever acquired and was wanted on two outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested, complained of pain, was transported to U of M hospital where he was treated and released and was then transported to Washtenaw County Jail. The vehicle was impounded. The prosecutor authorized charges for Resisting and Obstructing an Office.

07/27/2019 Arrest Fugitive Warrants
1000 Block of Barker – Officers responded on calls of two subjects fighting. Officers arrived and determined that a verbal dispute had occurred between known parties and one party had already left the scene. During the investigation officers discovered that the subject still at the scene had outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested and turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrants.

07/29/2019 Malicious Destruction of Property
300 Block of Dartmoor – A complainant reported that a guest staying at the residence purposefully kicked in the front door of the home then left. The case remains under investigation.

07/30/2019 Expired Temporary plate
Main St & Harbor Cove – During a traffic violation stop for no headlight, it was determined that the driver was driving with an expired temporary plate. The vehicle was impounded.
