NOBLESVILLE, IN - On August 9, 2019 at approximately 4:37 p.m., police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police & Fire Departments responded to the intersection of SR 32 and Oakmont Drive (Noblesville) in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving two (2) vehicles. Officers and firefighters arrived on the scene a short time later and began to investigate.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, it appears that a 2006 Chevy Cobalt was traveling southbound on Oakmont Drive and was stopped at the stop sign for SR 32 just prior to the crash. Information provided and available to the investigators at the scene suggests that the driver of the Chevy Cobalt pulled out onto SR 32 in an attempt to go eastbound; however, in doing so pulled into the path of a 2001 Mercedes that was traveling westbound on SR 32.

The driver of the Chevy Cobalt is identified as Alexa R. Lockhart, 18, of Noblesville, IN. She was transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent (Indianapolis) in critical condition. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the Mercedes was identified as Ana Roche, 67, of Westfield, IN. She was transported by ground ambulance to Riverview Health (Noblesville) with minor injuries. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Investigators from the NPD Accident Reconstruction Unit were summons to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. As a result of the investigation, SR 32 was closed between Hague Road and Willowview Road until approximately 6:40 p.m.

There are no indications at this point that alcohol or weather contributed to the crash.
