The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has extended the
* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in... East central Oakland County in southeastern Michigan... Southern Macomb County in southeastern Michigan...
* Until 1130 AM EDT Tuesday.
* At 520 AM EDT, there are reports of roadways remaining closed due to flooding across the warned area. Doppler radar estimates show that 3 to 6 inches of rain fell last evening. Flooding may also be occuring along or near the Clinton River in Macomb County and the Rouge River in east central Oakland County.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Warren, Troy, St. Clair Shores, Pontiac, Mount Clemens, Sterling Heights, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Rochester Hills, Roseville, Madison Heights, Auburn Hills, Fraser, Clawson, Utica, Bloomfield Hills, Sylvan Lake, Bloomfield Township and Clinton Township.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MACOMB, MI ... OAKLAND, MI

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
