LOCATION: The intersection of Blackmer and Muskrat Roads, Crystal Township.

On Monday, August 19, 2019 at approximately 6:57 pm, Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle versus ORV crash at the intersection of South Blackmer Road and East Muskrat Road in Crystal Township.
The investigation revealed that an Off Road Vehicle (ORV) driven by a 15-year-old male from Carson City was traveling north on Blackmer Road and collided with a vehicle being driven by a 54-year-old Carson City man that was traveling west on Muskrat Road. The westbound vehicle stopped at the intersection and then proceeded forward when the ORV struck it. The 15-year-old male was transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing with non-life threatening injuries. The 54-year-old male was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor. The 15-year-old was wearing a helmet and the 54-year-old was belted.
Montcalm County Central Dispatch and Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
