Arroyo Grande Police Department Attends the Hydrate Blue Event at Arroyo Grande Walmart
On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, between 10 am and 2 pm, the Arroyo Grande Walmart hosted the first "Hydrate Blue" event. The Arroyo Grande Police Department graciously received an entire pallet of bottled water, along with ten (10) small ice chests that can be carried in each of the Patrol vehicles, so that our officers can stay hydrated during their 12-hour shifts.
Additionally, Walmart granted the Arroyo Grande Police Department with a check for $5,000. The money will be used for the annual Santa Cop Program, which allows us to provide gifts to struggling families in a positive way to bring the families, and especially the children, an even more special holiday season that for many would not be possible without this program.
Lastly, Walmart staff members sold hotdogs, chips and water at today's event and all proceeds will go to the San Luis Obispo Law Enforcement Assistance Foundation (SLO LEAF). SLO LEAF provides immediate and temporary financial assistance to law enforcement agency personnel and their immediate families, who are currently employed or honorably retired from a San Luis Obispo County law enforcement agency; in a time of death, serious injury, critical illness or other catastrophic circumstances.
A special thank you to Walmart Store Manager, Shelly and all of her staff for putting on this event and for all of the support you provide to the Arroyo Grande Police Department and our community!
