Alert

The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a Flood Advisory for Madison County Until 12:45 AM

At 747 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area, especially in low water crossings. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen in localized spots between 430 pm and 730 pm.

Additional rainfall of up to an inch is expected over the area. This additional rain could result in more severe flash flooding.

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
