On August 25, 2019, at 8:24 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a Blue 2008 Chevy Cobalt on Interstate 69 near the 22 mile marker. Upon approaching the vehicle the driver was identified as 29 year old Desitny Francis of Evansville, Indiana. During a roadside investigation Deputy U.B. Smith ran Ms. Francis through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and discovered that Ms. Francis’ operator’s license status was listed as suspended on a prior driving while suspended conviction. At the end of his investigation Deputy Smith placed Ms. Francis into custody and transported her to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Driving While Suspended-Prior. She remains in custody on a $650 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Sergeant Bruce Vanoven.
