A fatal traffic collision occurred at Bear Valley Road and Cottonwood Avenue on August 24th

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road & Cottonwood Avenue, Victorville
SUMMARY: On August 24, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a traffic collision on Bear Valley Road, in the city of Victorville. Multiple callers reported a vehicle and motorcycle had collided in the intersection of Bear Valley and Cottonwood Avenue.
The driver of a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle, later identified as Jesse Keith Bates, 37-year old Adelanto resident, was traveling westbound on Bear Valley Road when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection with Cottonwood Avenue. The driver of a 2015 Audi was traveling eastbound on Bear Valley. The driver had a green light and was making a left turn onto Cottonwood Avenue when the collision occurred.
Bates was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Audi did not sustain injuries in the collision.
