West Covina PD UPDATE: Two suspects booked for suspicion of murder in connection with missing persons case.

DATE OF RELEASE: August 28, 2019

The West Covina Police Department has booked two men for suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of 28 year old John Brian Mananghaya Aguila who has been missing since Thursday, August 22, 2019.

The ongoing investigation and the evidence connected to the search warrant served at the residence yesterday have led West Covina Detectives to believe our missing persons case may be connected to the body discovered burned at the fire that occurred in the City of Upland being handled by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. A positive identification of the body is pending.

Booked for suspicion of murder are:

Elijah Thomas Rouse, 18 of La Verne
Shaun Cardarelli, 37 of San Gabriel

Bail is currently set at 1,000,000.00 each. Booking photos of these suspects cannot be released pending further investigation. Both are scheduled to appear for arraignment in Pomona Superior Court on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 8:30 AM.
