Lighthouse Point Boat Owners

Lighthouse Point Boat Owners

Some residents have inquired about tying up their boats in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian landfall. Boats may not be tied up in any navigable waterway until the Broward County Flotilla Plan has been concluded.

The Flotilla Plan, if necessary, is dependent on an evacuation order. No evacuation order has been issued at this time.

If an evacuation order is given:

  • The Flotilla Plan will be started when a HURRICANE WATCH is established.
  • Boats that have a pre-determined safe harbor destination will be included in the flotilla.
  • Boats not requiring a bridge opening may move prior to the enactment of the flotilla plan.
  • The Flotilla ends 3.5 hours AFTER an evacuation order is issued. At that time all bridges will be locked down.
