Coastal Flood Watch until 01:00AM Sunday
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Coastal Flood Watch, which is in effect from Saturday evening through late Saturday night.
* LOCATIONS...Beaufort, Coastal Colleton and Charleston.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Up to two feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (7.9 to 8.3 feet Mean Lower Low Water in Charleston Harbor). Significant saltwater inundation will render numerous roads impassable. Properties may also flood.
* TIMING...High tide will occur around 9:43 PM Saturday in Charleston. Saltwater inundation will be possible 2 to 3 hours before and after high tide.
* AFFECTED AREAS: BEAUFORT ... CHARLESTON ... COASTAL COLLETON
Instructions:
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property before flooding develops. If travel will be required, prepare for closed roads.
