Governor Calls for the evacuation of Zone A in Jasper County Evacuation to begin Monday at Noon.

Governor Henry McMaster has ordered the evacuation of Zone A in Jasper County to begin at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 2nd. Residents who reside in Zone A should put their emergency plans into action and evacuate inland. A shelter will be opened at the Ridgeland/Hardeeville School Complex located at 250 Jaguar Trail, Ridgeland SC 29936. This shelter will open on Monday, September 2nd at 12:00 PM for residents who cannot evacuate inland by their own means. This shelter cannot support individuals with special medical needs. If you have special medical needs that are outside the means of this facility, call 855-472-3432 for assistance.
The shelter will accommodate evacuees and some household pets. Evacuees seeking shelter should bring with them essential hygiene products, essential bedding items, important documents, 72 hours supply food for those with restrictive diets and at least a 7 day supply of medication.
Evacuees with pets must bring pet food, a pet crate, a maximum 6-foot leash.
In addition, Jasper County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, September 3rd as well as all state offices.
In addition, the Jasper County School District will begin a transportation pickup route at the following locations in order to bring residents who may not have transportation to the shelter. Pickups will begin at 12:00 PM Monday, September 2nd, from the following locations approximately every hour until 8:00 PM. Transportation services will resume the following day beginning at 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
