On Sunday September 1, 2019 at 10:52 PM an Emeryville Police Officer saw a car make several erratic lane changes and cut off other drivers near Powell St and Christie Ave. The officer caught up to and pulled the driver over near Bay Street. During the course of the traffic stop the officer searched the car and found a loaded semi-automatic pistol under the driver’s seat. A computer check revealed the gun had been reported stolen. Officers continued searching and found a backpack within reach of the passenger that contained numerous narcotic pills and a second loaded handgun. A ballistic vest was also found in the car’s trunk. The driver and passenger were arrested for multiple firearms and narcotics violations. Arrested were William Ponce Ramirez (18 year old male from Antioch) and Gustavo Barrera (21 year old male from Bay Point).
