School starts tomorrow!! Please be aware of an increase in pedestrian traffic as students head to school. Be especially aware of the new crosswalk in front of Mona Shores High School. As a reminder, all drivers must yield for pedestrians within the crosswalk. The crosswalk is equipped with flashing lights to notify drivers when a pedestrian is crossing.
Parents, please remind your children to utilize sidewalks and stay well off the road when heading to their bus stops. When using a crosswalk, do not assume a vehicle is going to stop. Only cross when you know it is safe to do so.
Lastly, please be patient when dropping off your children at school. The first week is always a bit chaotic until everyone gets into their routines and figures out what works best for their families. Please be patient, kind, and drive safely.
