Alberto Mendoza, 34 Years of age, Pomona resident

NARRATIVE:
On 09/07/2019, at approximately 4:55 P.M. Members of the Major Crimes Task Force was conducting enforcement patrols when they observed the suspect sitting on a vehicle parked in the street.  The suspect was drinking a beer in public and holding a black bag.  When officers went to contact the suspect, he immediately fled on foot.  At that time, the suspect discarded the bag on his possession as he attempted to run. The suspect was detained a short distance away.  When officers searched the suspect’s bag they located two loaded firearms and a large amount of cash indicative of narcotic sales.

Based on the investigation, officers armed themselves with a search warrant for the suspect's residence.  A search of the residence was conducted.  During the search, officers located and seized items consistent with narcotic sales that included almost a ½ pound of methamphetamine.  The suspect was arrested and booked into the Pomona City jail for the charges listed above.
