CASE # SO1947333
On September 8, 2019 at approximately 10:02 p.m., a Rock County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle at North Pearl Street and Laurel Avenue in Janesville for a traffic violation. The deputy made contact with the driver, EricaLynne Hartzell, 35 years old from Janesville. The deputy detected signs of impairment. The deputy conducted field sobriety tests, and developed probable cause for an Operating While Intoxicated arrest. A check of Hartzell’s driving record through Wisconsin DOT showed she has three prior OWI convictions on her record, making this her fourth offense, a felony in Wisconsin. Hartzell was transported to Mercy Hospital where she consented to a blood draw. Hartzell will have a mandatory court appearance for this offense.
Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
