Deputies are investigating a Fatal Traffic Collision that occurred on Sunday evening on National Trails Hwy

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: National Trails Hwy, North of the I-15 Freeway

INVOLVED PARTY (1): Kenya Williams / 45-year-old, Las Vegas, NV

INVOLVED PARTY (2): Adult Male, Identification Pending Next of Kin Notification

INVOLVED PARTY (3): Unknown Identity Adult Male


SUMMARY:
On Sunday, September 8, 2019, at approximately 10:37 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station, rescue personnel from the Victorville City Fire Department and paramedics from American Medical Response responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision on National Trails Hwy, north of the I-15 Freeway, in the city of Victorville. Deputies determined that a white Nissan Armada was traveling southbound on National Trails Hwy toward the I-15 Freeway. A red Ford Flex was traveling northbound on National Trails Hwy from the I-15 Freeway. The Nissan crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the Ford.


The driver of the Nissan, 45-year-old Kenya Williams, was airlifted to a local trauma center for treatment of her moderate injuries. The Ford was occupied by two occupants. The driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver’s identity is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin. The passenger in the Ford was airlifted to a local trauma center and is listed in critical condition. Investigators have not yet been able to identify the passenger.

The cause of the collision is under investigation. It is unknown at this time, why the Nissan crossed into opposing lanes. Deputies are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. National Trails Hwy in the area of the collision was closed in both directions for several hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses.
