 Dear Resident,

 The Township of Knowlton has contracted with Tilcon, Inc., via the public bid process, to provide road resurfacing on Stark Road.  The resurfacing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2019.  Work will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will conclude on the same day.
 
Due to the volume of traffic on Stark Road, portions of it will be fully closed during the day. The southern portion of Stark Road, from Route 94 to Woodruff Way, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 1:00 p.m. Once the paver passes Woodruff Way, the southern portion of road will be reopened and the remainder of the road, from Woodruff Way to Hainesburg River Road, will be closed until the job's completion in the evening.  The road will reopen in the same direction as the closure when the asphalt cools to a sufficient temperature to allow vehicle traffic. 
 
Orange traffic cones will be placed lying down at the side of driveways along the route. As the paving crew passes your driveway, they will stand the cone up and place it in the center of your driveway. The upright cone represents that the asphalt has not sufficiently cooled for traffic and significant damage will occur to the road surface and possibly to your vehicle if driven on. The Township will not be responsible for damage to cars traveling on the road before it is officially reopened.
 
The cones will be removed by the Public Works Manager when it is safe to drive on the new asphalt. Please avoid starting and stopping, making sharp turns, driving on the edges or turning your wheels while stopped for the first few days.
 
Residents who live nearby may park on Victoria Crossing Road, Woodruff Way, or at Brook Hollow Winery (please use the lot by the new Event Building) the night before and on the day of construction, to ensure that you can get in or out without difficulty, and will not be ticketed.
 
Bus stops may be affected on September 17 for North Warren Regional and Knowlton Township Elementary school.  The schools will contact residents regarding changes.
