South central Rutherford County in western North Carolina...
Polk County in western North Carolina...

* Until 600 PM EDT.

* At 512 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of
Rutherfordton, moving west at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
Columbus, Tryon, Mill Spring, Green Creek and Lake Adger.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Large hail can cause major property damage, especially to vehicles.
