Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 9/13/2019 at 1623 hours, his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on Marcellus Hwy at the intersection of Decatur Rd in Volinia Township, Cass County Michigan. Wayne Christenson, 68 yr old from Granger, IN was north bound, when he failed to stop at the signed intersection and collided with oncoming west bound vehicle driven by 65 yr old Dowagiac resident, John Wood. Mr. Wood's vehicle then left the roadway and collided with a house. Mr. Wood was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Mr. Christenson was treated and released. It is believed that alcohol was not a factor and seat belts were used. This case remains under investigation.
