Houston Municipal Election 
Three city council seats are up for election this year, as well as an advisory question on the ban of disposable bags.
POLLING PLACE:
On Election Day, Tuesday, October 1, 2019, polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. City of Houston polling place is Houston City Hall- 13878 W. Armstrong Road, Houston, Alaska, 99694.
A portion of Houston City limits extends into the precinct boundary for 08-155 Big Lake and 10-145, however, there are no City residents registered to vote at either precinct.
ABSENTEE VOTING BY-MAIL:
Any qualified registered voter may apply to the Clerk for an absentee ballot to be mailed to them. Applications are due no later than September 24, 2019.
EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING:
Early voting is open from September 16 through September 30, 2019, at the following locations:
- State of Alaska, Division of Elections, North Fork Professional Building B, 1700 E. Bogard Road, Suite 102, in Wasilla, September 16 – 20 (Monday – Friday) – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., September 21 (Saturday) - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., September 23 – 27 (Monday – Friday) – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., September 28 (Saturday) - 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., September 30 (Monday) – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Houston City Hall Office of the City Clerk, 13878 W. Armstrong Road September 16 – September 30 (Monday – Friday) - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you or someone you know requires special assistance in voting due to a disability or bilingual need, please contact the Office of the City Clerk at least 24 hours before the time of casting ballots.
