On September 14, 2019, at about 9:59 p.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Office detention deputies responded for a report of a stabbing in the Pre-Trial Facility.
One inmate received puncture wounds, and received moderate injuries. The adult man is in stable condition at the hospital.
Through video surveillance, investigators were able to identify three inmates involved. A weapon was not recovered. The attack is believed to be gang related.
20-year-old Julian Valenzuela, 19-year-old Juan Santiago, 26-year-old Irvin Chavez will be charged with attempted homicide with gang enhancement.
