Synopsis: P-1 was a 45 year old white male riding a bicycle N/B in the S/B bike lane of 5100 Hickman Field Dr. When the bicyclist reached the intersection of 5700 Copley Dr. he failed to stop at the red traffic signal. P-2 was a 47 year old black female driving a silver colored 2018 Lexus SUV, W/B in the W-1 lane of 5600 Copley Dr. P-2 had a green light and entered the intersection of Hickman Field Dr. P-2 struck P-1 in the W-1 lane. P-2 was uninjured. P-1 sustained serious injuries including a skull fracture and a brain bleed. P-1 was transported to an area hospital by paramedics with life threatening injuries. SDPD Traffic Division officers responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. Drugs or alcohol are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
