The National Weather Service in Lubbock Texas has extended the
* Flood Advisory for...
Lubbock County in northwestern Texas...
* Until 1145 PM CDT.
* At 928 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rainfall continuing in the advisory area. Widespread
rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches of rain, with locally higher
amounts, have fallen in the advisory area over the past 3 hours.
DO NOT drive into flood waters.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lubbock, Slaton, Abernathy, Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou, Ransom
Canyon, Slide, Woodrow, Reese Center, and New Deal.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. DO NOT drive into flood waters.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
