The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Crawford County in southeastern Kansas... Northern Barton County in southwestern Missouri... Southern Vernon County in west central Missouri...
* Until 1145 PM CDT.
* At 742 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one and a half inch of rain has already fallen in addition to heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding. Locations in the warning include... Pittsburg... Prairie State Park... Lamar... Frontenac... Girard... Arma... Liberal... Sheldon... Mulberry... Mindenmines... Franklin... Montevallo... Arcadia... Bronaugh... Lamar Heights... Irwin... Burgess... Milford... Croweburg... Yale... This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water crossings... Route K at Dry Wood Creek east of Arcadia... and Route C at Horse Creek east of Milford.
