Narrative:
A thirteen-year-old Fillmore juvenile was arrested after patrol deputies and school officials determined he was responsible for multiple vandalisms at Fillmore High School.

On September 16th at approximately 1:30 p.m., patrol deputies were dispatched to Fillmore High School for a juvenile problem call.  When they arrived, school officials informed them of over 12 separate vandalisms that occurred on school grounds in the past two weeks.  School officials located items in a student’s backpack with evidence linking the juvenile to the vandalisms.  Patrol deputies conducted an investigation into the vandalisms and determined the juvenile was involved.   The vandalism damage to the school grounds was estimated to be $1,200.00.

Detectives continued the investigation by obtaining a search warrant for the juvenile’s residence.   During the service of the warrant, investigators uncovered additional evidence linking the juvenile to the vandalisms.

The juvenile was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center in Oxnard for PC 594(b)(1) / Graffiti Vandalism.  During the booking process, the juvenile was found to be concealing a knife and was booked for an additional violation of PC 4573.6 / Possess Contraband in Jail.

The identification and apprehension of this vandal would not have been possible without alert school officials and the cooperative relationship between the Fillmore Police Department and the Fillmore Unified School District.
